Sam & Donnach // Askham Hall Wedding Photography

Sam and Donnach celebrated their wedding at my absolute favourite venue, Askham Hall, on the edge of the Lake District. Askham Hall provides a really special setting, luxurious accommodation, exquisite food and a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Here’s the point where I’d say how beautiful the weather was, and how it was such a crisp blue-sky autumn day.. but it wasn’t.. it rained, and then rained, and then rained a bit more. Were we bothered? Not in the slightest! There’s something about autumn rain and grey cloud that makes the colours stand out, and the grounds of St Peter’s Church and Askham Hall looked even more stunning in the rain than in the sunshine. Sam and Donnach could literally light up the darkest of days with their bubbly personalities and love of, well, everything it would seem!

Preparations started in Askham Hall, although of course the groom’s party inevitably ended up in the pub. The bride’s party had a tad more to do, and we spent the morning in the stunning Lonsdale room, largely dancing to wedding-related songs which were playing loudly until the practicing bagpiper drowned out Spotify, and the singing!

After a beautiful ceremony we spent the rest of the day at Askham, dodging the showers for some shots outside, and rolling with it when the rain came down.

I had an absolute blast with Sam and Donnach, it was the PERFECT day!
