Blaithwaite House // Styled Wedding Photo Shoot

What do you get when you cross a stunning venue, wonderful couples and models, 17 awesome wedding suppliers, 2 alpacas, a 7 week old calf, some gorgeous weather, and a few sparklers…? THIS EPIC SHOOT!

Lockdown has felt like an eternity to most, and while normality resumes for many people, for us wedding suppliers it’s still having a massive impact on the work we’re allowed to do. As soon as enough restrictions were lifted we decided to embark on a wedding-like project that would involve some of the very best suppliers that Cumbria has to offer, in one of the most stunning venues! We were excited..actually more like ecstatic to be planning something again, and it’s been a massive boost for all of us.

We had an SPECTACULAR day at Blaithwaite House, home to fabulous hosts Kate, Mal and their children. I wanted to showcase this beautiful venue across a whole day, with real couples who were married at Blaithwaite last year, and absolutely nothing disappointed! The weather was perfect, the animals involved almost behaved themselves.. aside from one slightly unruly calf.. and there was a proper celebratory buzz around the place all day.

Blaithwaite House offers the perfect blend of barn meets country house; there doesn’t need to be a compromise. They’ve even got the most gorgeous summer house surrounded by water, which makes for the perfect spot for an outdoor wedding if you’d like to be married in the open air. Stunningly beautiful gardens, a long driveway that would rival something out of a Jane Austin novel, and all encompassed by rustic farmland and unspoilt country lanes, you couldn’t ask for anything more.

First couple of the day were the lovely Sam and Finn, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary the very next day. They absolutely loved being back at Blaithwaite, and spent the day reminiscing and beaming from ear to ear! We had a couple of hours in the afternoon showcasing some brand new dresses from Bridal Wishes in Carlisle. The models did a fantastic job! We finished the evening with a second married couple, Amanda and Michael. Amanda and Michael were also married at Blaithwaite and loved getting back into wedding mode.

Thank you to my regular second shooter Alex for helping me set up shots and lighting all day
