Lucy & Will // Edinburgh Zoo Wedding Photography

Lucy and Will first came to visit me when they were looking around for a wedding photographer - we got on like a house on fire straight away; it was like meeting up with old friends! They chatted about where they were holding their wedding, and I couldn’t have been more excited. We also talked about the importance of real coffee, but that wasn’t quite as relevant to the wedding! I’ve always loved animals, so holding a wedding at Edinburgh Zoo was going to be the perfect setting for me. I had hoped for giraffes.. I LOVE giraffes, but I also love penguins and those we saw lots of.. no giraffes.. still a little bitter, but I won’t mention it (tee hee).

On a rather rainy October day we arrived at the zoo ahead of Lucy and Will; loads of time to explore the house and immediate grounds, and to cross everything that the rain would ease off later in the day, which it did! We had such a gorgeous relaxed morning, so everyone was rather chilled out by the time it got to the ceremony.

We spent the afternoon exploring the zoo, after being treated to the penguin parade, not giraffes.. did I mention I didn’t see any giraffes?! We found lots of lovely spaces for natural portraits, and by natural I truly mean it in the case of Lucy and Will, who took me very seriously when I said ‘be yourselves’, as you’ll see from the images!

Thank you so much for allowing Alex and I to be a part of your big day. We loved it, and it was a fabulous opportunity for this Cumbria wedding photographer to travel a bit further north.
