Rachael and Chris reminded me just why I absolutely ADORE autumn and winter weddings. Don’t get me wrong, I love weddings all year round, but there’s something about the deep autumn colours; reds and greens, that makes me super happy. Combine that with the autumn Lake District landscape, wet with early morning frosts, and rich green lush foliage.. it’s perfect, just perfect.
Rachael and Chris chose the beautifully intimate Wild Boar Hotel in Windermere for their ceremony and reception. I love being at the Wild Boar, it genuinely is an incredibly unique Lake District venue, with all the rustic charm of a country pub, stunning food, and the best Cumbrian hospitality. My favourite thing about shooting at the Wild Boar is the trip into their amazing grounds via a Land Rover that’s older than me.. I know.. I asked! It’s a bumpy trip down to their fishing lake, and not something you’d want to try in a Fiat Panda.. BUT, it’s worth the bumps, the land is just wild with fern, and reeds, and paths that aren’t really paths - it’s like the perfect backdrop for a wedding photographer who loves the wild outdoors.
